A refined mouth-blown glass trinket box from the late 19th century.
Circa 1890, Napoleon III, Victorian era.
The lid is decorated with a refined hand-painted medallion depicting a romantic scene of playing putti/cherubs.
The surround consists of delicately gilded floral motifs and garlands.
The box stands on three gracefully fluted, claw-foot ormolu feet.
On the underside the characteristic smooth-ground pontil mark is visible.
Very good antique condition, no cracks or restorations to the glass. The hinge is in good condition.
Age-related wear to the gilding, which contributes to the authentic character.
Measurements: height 10 cm, diameter 13 cm. Weight 410 grams, weighed without packaging.
