Nicole Lubbers - Into The Unknown

Nicole Lubbers is a Dutch visual artist from the eastern part of the country. Her work is characterized by an innovative and idiosyncratic approach to abstract art, in which painting, relief and sculptural elements come together. With rich colors, layered structures and a variety of materials, she creates powerful works around themes such as resilience, movement, strength and transformation.

Her international career has developed strongly in recent years. Lubbers was proclaimed Artist of the Year 2024 at the Belgrade Biennale, received the Institutional Award of the Municipality of Montecosaro and achieved second place at the World Art Awards as Most Innovative Artist 2024. She was also listed among the 100 best female artists in the world and recognized as Master in Art.

Internationally, her work has been shown and planned for exhibitions in New York, Venice, Florence, Belgrade, Belgium, China and Montecosaro, in addition to exhibitions in Dutch galleries.

A particular highlight is Beyond the Surface, a solo exhibition on Times Square in New York. In addition, Nicole, together with artist Michael Lam, presents the exhibition Harmony in Motion: Two Artists, One Vision. Here Lam’s flowing Single Stroke Painting meets Lubbers’ expressive, layered structures. The color purple forms the connecting line between two different artistic languages and symbolizes creativity, spirituality and transformation.

Nicole Lubbers’ work is more than decoration. Her compositions invite us to pause and reflect on perseverance, growth and overcoming challenges. Each work forms a powerful and tangible statement that lends a space character, energy and individuality.

In addition to her work as a visual artist, Nicole Lubbers is also known as a doll maker. Her artworks are supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
