Decorative ornament - Studio EF - Italy - Otello Ciullini

An offered rare and authentic Italian design object from the 1970s: the iconic wall panel "Cristo Plex", designed by artist Otello Ciullini for Studio EF (Viareggio, Italy) as part of the exclusive Hit Proposals line. This impressive modernist artwork combines the luxurious Hollywood Regency style with brutalist space-age elements. The base consists of a heavy back plate in gold-colored brushed metal. In the middle lies a mirrored, vertical chrome strip on which a beautiful, three-dimensionally and minimally stylized Christ body (corpo di Cristo) in polished brass is mounted. At the bottom of the chrome strip is engraved the artist's original, characteristic signature. The panel is in a magnificent, untouched vintage condition with a very atmospheric patina and minimal signs of aging that underscore the authenticity of the object. Works from this series are internationally highly valued and are sought-after collectibles for enthusiasts of high-end mid-century design and Italian applied arts.
