Three antique ceramic plates, two-tiered and one footed, traditional to Vietri sul Mare, with shaped edges (polylobed) enriched by a decoration of green brushstrokes in teardrop or petal shapes, while at the center they depict a typical stylized sailing ship—a schooner or caravel—in green tones on a white glazed background. The plates are a limited edition from the firm Macs (Manifattura Artistica Ceramica Salernitana), founded in the late 1930s as an evolution of the previous ICS opened in 1927 by the German-Jewish entrepreneur Max Melamerson and his wife Flora, closed in 1938 due to fascist racial laws and the couple deported to an internment camp.
