With this vertical-format artwork, Medsan hangs Spider-Man upside down by his thread, in the watchful stance that has become the character’s signature, created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. The suit is no longer red and blue: it tilts toward a matte graphite, close to the stealth variant of the Spider-Verse, and becomes the support for a swarm of graffiti. The mashup is frontal — the Marvel icon itself becomes a tagged façade of a New York City neighborhood.

The rendering leans toward sculptural concept art: hyperreal modeling, the costume’s mesh marked in relief, satin reflections on anthracite, a silhouette detached on a very dark neutral background that isolates it as in a studio. Above it runs a whole vocabulary of street art with marker- and spray-painted finishes — wildstyle lettering “SWING CITY” and “FLY,” a sky-blue “NYC” tag crowned with a halo, a red throw-up outlined in yellow, pink hearts, purple stars, little stickers placed directly on the thigh. The fluorescent palette, magenta, cyan, acid green and orange, pops against the gray like graffiti on a subway car.

The message is crystal clear: Spider-Man is a street hero, a kid from Queens, and Medsan returns his city to him by inscribing it on his skin. The words read backward — WILD, ROCK, SWING, LOVE — tell a youth of the urban world far more than a superpower. The inverted pose completes the effect: you must tilt the head to decipher, just like facing a wall painted at night.
