This painting presents a peaceful coastal scene in which the breadth of the beach, the calm sea, and the delicate light of the sky come together to create a serene and evocative atmosphere. The composition captures a moment of low tide, when the water has receded and left exposed a large expanse of wet sand dotted with small stones, puddles, boats, and rocky formations. Everything seems to unfold slowly, beneath a soft light that tints the landscape with pinkish, bluish, and violet hues.

The beach occupies a considerable part of the work and functions as the large open space on which the different elements of the scene are distributed. Its surface shows a warm blend of browns, ochres, and reddish tones, accompanied by countless light and dark nuances. The small stones and shells scattered on the sand create an irregular visual rhythm, adding variety and naturalness to the foreground. These tiny color notes gradually guide the eye toward the central area, where the land and water meet.

The rocks in the foreground have a solid and expressive presence.
