MEDSAN - Scream Air Jordan (ムンクの叫びのスニーカー) - UNIQUE WORK

With this square-format work, Medsan brings an Air Jordan 3 « Fire Red » into the convulsed sky of Edvard Munch's The Scream (1893). The screaming figure, reduced to a tiny apparition in the top left, has ceded the leading role to the sneaker, while the Oslo fjord becomes a color swell crossed by a few walkers in silhouette. The cartouche メドサン reads discreetly at the bottom right, in the gray of the wave.

The treatment imitates the Nordic expressionist touch: wavy bands of blood red, ochre, olive green, and Prussian blue, stretched as if with a knife, with a dense impasto finish extended by drips running toward the edge of the frame. The light wood panel remains visible at the corners and in the gaps, a wink to the raw support of Northern painters. The shoe retains its exact codes — red-orange leather gradient, gray and black elephant motif, Jumpman on the tongue, cream sole — modeled in the same swirling pâte as the landscape, without ever losing its legibility as a cult object.

The pairing is not accidental: The Scream is the image of modern angst, the Jordan 3 that of mass desire, and Medsan makes them coincide in a single wave. The sneaker occupies the place of the scream, as if the coveted object had replaced the emotion it was meant to fill. What you receive is a unique screen-printed artwork, pigment print on canvas mounted on a frame, numbered 1/1 and hand-signed.
