With this square-format work, Medsan replays the absolute icon of street art: the Flower Thrower by Banksy, that masked, cap-wearing protester whose armed arm hurls a bouquet, originally appearing on a wall in Bethlehem in 2005 under the title Love is in the Air. Here, the projectile has changed its nature: no more spray of flowers, but a white Nike Air Force 1, a sneaker born in 1982 and that has become the real currency of urban culture. The gesture remains exact to the millimeter, but the symbolic charge shifts entirely.

The mashup says something very true about our era: rebellion has swapped its bouquet for an object of desire, and contemporary upheaval plays out as much in front of shop windows as on the barricades. The ambiguity Banksy had installed remains — weapon or offering? — now set on a streetwear totem that everyone recognizes. It is an image of anger and desire, held in a single momentum.
