LEONARDO TARRINI
Son of sculptor Cesare Tarrini (Livorno 1930 - 2015)
Great sincerity; Tarrini goes to the real and fixes his emotions on the canvas without resorting to cunning, all unconsciously intent on capturing the lyrical values of the vision, seeking lighting and chromatic effects; alongside the favored and predominant landscape, he treats the sea, still life, and flowers. He paints with immediacy and freshness that leave an impression; he paints what he sees and what he feels, and in his latest works it is not difficult to sense his orientation increasingly toward feeling rather than seeing, progressively freeing himself from the visual constraint that would flatter him with a cult of details, his solid knowledge of drawing and composition. (Luigi Servolini)
Leonardo Tarrini, a Livornese, reconnecting with the realistic heritage of the 19th century, has achieved excellent results by gathering in his paintings traditional motifs renewed and rejuvenated by a subtle penetrating modern sensibility.
A clear and clean painter who securely achieves vivid and luminous chromatic effects that testify to the artist’s warm and sunny personality, a personality that in our view establishes a direct relationship with the surrounding nature whose secret language he seems to intuit and which represents for the artist the only source of true inspiration. (Italo Carlo Sesti)
The truth, in the complete range of colors and in an entirely personal approach, is the primary point of his painting, healthy and clean brushstrokes, marked and decisive, pure and delicate accents.
A painting by Leonardo Tarrini is above all a manifestation of feeling for an balanced compositional form that allows recognizing a constant stylistic trait and a timbre that becomes increasingly incisive and mature, personal... (Loriano Domenici)
