AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

BAHAMAS is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado that embodies the universal imagery of relaxed luxury, escapism, and the desire to disappear for a moment into a clock-free paradise.

The composition places in the foreground a white yacht gliding over intensely blue waters, while in the background a tropical island and a large red sun build an idealized postcard scene, almost cinematic. Everything in the work breathes escapism, warmth, and the promise of freedom.

More than representing a specific geographic destination, BAHAMAS functions as a symbol of that mental place we would all like to flee to: open sea, silence, horizon, and a sense of carefree abundance.

The boldness of flat colors, the black line of strong graphic presence, and the large lower inscription recall the old mid-20th-century tourist posters, where travel was synonymous with glamour and adventure.

BAHAMAS is a visual invitation to disconnect from everyday life and to let oneself be carried away by the luminous fantasy of the perfect journey.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
