Description from the seller
Artwork n.628
Dimensions: 90,00 x 90,00 (cm)
I create paintings using acrylic colors and thousands of small pieces of recycled paper: everyday paper is transformed into art instead of ending up in the garbage. In my latest works I have focused on the theme of women treated as objects (dolls) and too often victims of violence, and these are the latest pieces I have completed.
"Not your doll" - "I am not your doll" is a series where I intend to represent the faces of women with features reminiscent of the most classic dolls and the message is: "even if I look like a real doll, I am not a doll, your doll and do with me what you want" with everything that lies behind, up to, unfortunately, violence.

Images showing the work in interior settings are for illustrative purposes only and proportions may appear different. The actual dimensions are those indicated in the description.

Born in 1974 I am self-taught.
After an initial period devoted to sculpture there was a long pause lasting almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I resumed with the "two dimensions" for reasons of time and space, leaving sculpture aside and dedicating myself to acrylic paintings.
I love painting abstract landscapes but recently I have been pushing myself to paint also faces of people both imaginary and real.
For me painting is "locking time" at that exact moment; a painting of mine is often a faded memory and therefore my works are "worn, eroded by time". Sometimes the subjects of my paintings are glimpses of walls also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that—over time—grow on the surface.
The passing time is the main theme of my works.
Coming from a beautiful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs well perceptible to the touch and to the naked eye.
Recently, after several years in which my works were made from pieces of recycled paper forming figures, I am pushing myself to explore Optical Art where I use painted wooden discs arranged in lines and grids repeated with mathematical rigor that, when viewed up close, seem to form a colorful abstract painting but the further you move away, a figure portrait emerges from the 768 painted wooden discs.
Violence against women is a theme that characterizes almost all of my works when I reproduce female faces, precisely to give them a voice when they do not have the strength or courage to report the fact that they are not their partner’s dolls and they cannot be mistreated or, worse, victims of violence.
