Oscar Leonor - Playa XL

"Playa" is a work that represents two bodies lying on a beach. The figures, composed of pictorial fragments, are merely hinted at. The colors are the colors of summer. The artist uses this technique, in the manner of the Impressionists, to approach what, for him, is a first impression of a beach: sky, sea, sand and semi-naked bodies lying, lazy, anonymous bodies, faceless.

The process begins with an improvised sketch of the scene with fluid acrylics, then moving on to fixing the forms and working on the composition.

Signed by hand on the front, bottom right. It is sold rolled up without a frame, including certificate of authenticity.

The seller and his story:

Spanish figurative painter. Born in Segovia in 1976, self-taught draftsman and painter for many years. He has exhibited his work in public venues and national and international art fairs since 2014.

His interests are very varied; he conceives painting as a tool for re-encounter with oneself. His creative process has evolved over time; experimentation and the search for new paths, methods and materials are the engine of his career, however one could say that the deconstruction of form and dialogue with art history have been two pillars that have remained and around which he finds the freedom to create and transmit.

This attitude has led him along different paths in his life, trying different formulas and genres such as still life, the representation of personal objects, drawing and painting the human body, or symbolism and the narrative. His main wish is to develop a painting of a personal character that connects with him and in which humor is almost always present.
