Measuring 20 x 20 cm, this work depicts a man entirely immersed in a powerful, late masterwork by Willem de Kooning. Moving away from the raw, aggressive impasto of his earlier career, De Kooning’s late 1980s style is celebrated for its ethereal elegance, characterized by fluid, harmonious, curvy ribbons of color that sweep across the canvas. Transfixed by this graceful composition, the viewer takes it all in, seamlessly becoming part of the painting.
The work dates from 2026 and is made with acrylic on panel. It is signed on the back and comes with a label from the artist as well as a Certificate of Authenticity.

Gerard Boersma (b. 1976) has been an internationally acclaimed artist for over 25 years, celebrated for his unique style of hyperrealistic paintings of modern daily life, in which he expresses both his love and concerns for contemporary society.
Actively represented by top contemporary galleries across Europe and the United States, Boersma has exhibited alongside icons like Warhol and Banksy.
