War mask - Kifwebe - DR Congo (No reserve price)

This mask is nicely patinated in white and dark stripes. Well cut pretty beautiful bulging eyes and protruding mouth. Male masks have a crest that runs into the nose. A beautifully striking piece with a lot of expression.

The Kifwebe masks are given supernatural powers and also used to intimidate enemies.
