David Law (1967) presents Private Worlds III, a limited edition (2/8) mixed‑media artwork on aluminium with a 30 × 30 cm vinyl print, signed on the plate, produced in France in 2025.
Description from the seller
Photographer-Artist – Creator of Contemporary Images
Multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops a body of work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to storefront display mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Later, intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection.
New Series – Private Worlds
In a repetitive facade where every window becomes a world, the light reveals fragments of silent lives. Behind each colored square, simple gestures — almost invisible — tell of intimacy, waiting and isolation. No gaze crosses paths, no story intersects. A collection of contemporary solitudes, confined within their own luminous frames. This series was conceived using contemporary visual creation workflows, employing graphic tools and current digital composition techniques.
Career
Since 2014, David Law participates in about twenty contemporary art fairs annually in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Alongside his visual activity, he develops authorial and musician work including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a comic book, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he is currently performing with the group FRENZY.
Edition & Production
Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Prints are made on aluminum with an integrated back mount. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term resistance, color stability, and a modern, contemporary look.
