Splendid and elegant set of 6 collectible wall plates, crafted in refined glazed ceramic and finely decorated. Central decoration depicts romantic river scenes of the English countryside with fishermen along the river, lush vegetation, and period homes in the background. The rim of each plate features a rich floral and baroque relief decoration (embossed) under the glaze, with a multi-lobed, scalloped shape.
All 6 plates come with their own spring wall supports (adjustable hooks mounted on the back), ready to be hung and displayed from the moment they arrive!
The plates belong to the famous "English River Scenes" series from the prestigious British brand Crown Devon (S. Fielding & Co. Ltd., Staffordshire, England).
Origin and Brand: England, Staffordshire (Crown Devon - S. Fielding & Co. Ltd.).
Period: Vintage (circa mid-20th century / 1930s–1950s).
Material: Glossy glazed ceramic (polychrome transferware print with a warm finish in mustard/golden honey tones).

- 5 Small Plates: 17 cm x 16.8 cm
The plates are in excellent overall condition, with no chipping, cracks, or restorations on the front or rims.
Production note: On the back of one plate there is a small stain/dark pigment mark left under the glaze. We want to specify that this is not a defect or damage, but an original imperfection that occurred during the firing and manufacturing process in the kiln, typical of artisanal ceramic production of the era, which attests to its authenticity.
