Description from the seller
Old Tarot game 78 cards - B.P. Grimaud Paris Circa 1910 - With Original Case
Ancient deck of the new Tarot (Tarot Bourgeois) complete with 78 cards, produced by the famous card house B.P. Grimaud in Paris.
The original cardboard case mentions the successors "Chartier, Marteau & Boudin - 54, Rue de Lancry, PARIS", which allows dating this edition to around the 1910s-1920s.
Composition and Condition : Box: Shows significant signs of use due to its age (scuffing, small tears at corners and worn flaps), but remains solid and intact (see photos).
Cards: The lot includes the 21 trump cards illustrated with scenes of life, the Excuse (the Fool) and the traditional French suits (Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs).
The game also includes a white title card from the brand "La Ducale" (Luxe Cards).
The backs of the cards feature an orange/brown Scottish pattern.
Overall condition: Good overall condition of the card box, no major creasing or tearing on the presented cards, nice vintage patina.
Perfect for a collector of antique card games, bistrot-era objects, or French antiques.
