Description from the seller
Handmade air-drying clay elements on board with gold-toned background.
Methodical Chaos explores the tension between spontaneity and order through an intricate composition of individually handcrafted clay elements. Set against a luminous gold-toned background, the dark sculptural forms create a dynamic rhythm of curves, loops and organic shapes. The contrast between black and gold gives the work a sophisticated architectural presence, while its highly tactile surface changes subtly with light and perspective.
Marianna Kamsari is a contemporary artist based in French Riviera whose work transforms delicate Japanese air-drying clay into intricate sculptural narratives inspired by the rhythms of marine and botanical life. Since 2010, she has devoted herself to mastering hand-building techniques that defy the limitations of her chosen medium, creating tactile wall installations that explore the tension between fragility and endurance.
Having transitioned from London’s dynamic art scene to the luminous landscapes of the French Riviera, Marianna
draws her inspiration from her Mediterranean surroundings and her experiences as a passionate scuba diver to craft
works that echo the coral reefs, underwater currents, and organic patterns of nature. Each sculpture is both a
meditation on the natural world and a reflection of human emotion - order emerging from chaos, delicacy shaped by
strength.
Her art has found homes in private collections throughout Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas, and has been
commissioned for luxury interiors, including a renowned casino in Nevada and a distinguished hotel in the UAE. In
2024, Marianna held her first solo exhibition at Excellence Art Gallery in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, France. The
following year, her piece Metaphorical Chaos earned the First Jury Prize at the International Exhibition in Milan
(2025).
Beyond her studio practice, Marianna continues to expand her creative dialogue through exhibitions, design
collaborations, and various art projects, sharing her vision of harmony between the organic and the sculptural -
between earth and sea, motion and stillness.
