Description from the seller
Vintage 13-piece porcelain dinner service by Hutschenreuther, produced in Germany during the early post-war period and bearing the distinctive “Germany US Zone” mark.
This marking dates the service to approximately 1946–1949, making it an interesting and characteristic example of early post-war German porcelain production.
The service is made of fine ivory-coloured porcelain and features elegant relief-moulded borders with a delicate basketweave effect. The decoration consists of graceful branches with pink and purple flowers, creating a refined contrast with the warm ivory porcelain.
Manufacturer: Hutschenreuther
Country of origin: Germany
Mark: Germany US Zone
Period: circa 1946–1949
Material: Porcelain
Colour: Ivory
Decoration: Pink and purple floral motif
The service consists of 13 pieces:
* 5 dinner plates – diameter 24.5 cm
* 5 soup plates – diameter 25.5 cm
* 1 large serving platter – length 39 cm
* 1 gravy boat with integrated underplate – capacity approx. 300 ml
* 1 covered soup tureen – capacity approx. 1.7 litres
Condition: Good vintage condition, especially considering the age of the service. There are two very small chips, shown clearly in the photographs. They are discreet and not particularly noticeable in normal use. There is also some minor wear to the floral decoration, consistent with age. Overall, the service remains very well preserved and presents beautifully.
Please refer carefully to the photographs for a detailed impression of the condition, decoration and original “Germany US Zone” manufacturer’s marks.
