Fraureuth - Centrepiece - Porcelain

Exceptionally detailed lidded box from the renowned Fraureuth porcelain manufactory (Thuringia). This piece, dating from roughly the period 1914 to 1935, comes from the manufactory’s exclusive art department and impresses with its masterful craftsmanship.

Details & Equipment:
Manufactory: Fraureuth (with green company mark and red stamp mark “Kunstabteilung Handgemalt”).

Form & Design: Elegant, domed oval lidded box on four plastically worked, rocaille-swept feet. The body is divided by noble cobalt-green fond reserves with lush, relief-like gold ornamentation.

Painting: Both the curved lid and the curved side panels are hand-painted with magnificent, lifelike flower bouquets (including a large rose and an aster motif, tulips) in vivid, fine colors. The interior of the box is lovingly decorated with delicate sprig flowers.

Gilding: Rich, glossy gold edges and ornamental borders add luxurious accents.

Condition:
A collector’s piece in very good preserved condition.

No further cracks, chips or hairline cracks. The gold painting is exceptionally well preserved for its age (minimal contemporary wear on exposed areas is possible, see photos).
