Statue, Madonna met Kind - 24 cm - Plaster

This is a polychromed plaster statue of a Madonna and Child. In the 20th century, sculptures in this specific medieval or Gothic style became very popular. Molds were then made of original medieval wooden church statues to cast them in plaster and paint them by hand (polychroming). This explains why the texture and the drapery strongly resemble wood carving. Height 24 cm. In reasonable condition.
