Yet reality never reaches us unchanged. It passes through our memories, desires, fears, and expectations. Two people can experience the very same moment and carry away two entirely different truths.
It is precisely this boundary between reality and perception that lies at the heart of “Just an Illusion.”
The work raises the question of whether illusion is necessarily the opposite of truth. Sometimes, it is the way our consciousness transforms the world into something beautiful, desired, or possible.
