AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Earth globe in semi-precious stones. Antique, in perfect condition with a compass.
The globe is fixed in the middle of a golden circle graduated every 15 degrees, itself screwed onto a pedestal. The whole can, if you wish, rest on a metal tripod.
The terrestrial globe is presented here with its oceans in their natural color.
These globes are handmade with about thirty natural semi-precious stones (aventurine, shell, scale, jasper, fluorite, lapis lazuli, white marble, malachite, onyx, mother-of-pearl, nephrite, tiger’s eye, quartz, serpentine, turquoise, etc...). Each country is represented by a semi-precious stone. The globe made of fine stones requires dozens of hours of artisanal work. The main steps of its manufacture are as follows: cutting the stones into thin blades, cutting the blades to the template of the countries, flat transfer of the junctions, mounting on the support (a hollow resin globe), verification, cutting and setting of the meridians, surfacing, calligraphic labeling of the names, lacquering baths for fixation, surface polishing and installation of the axes and pivots for mounting on the stand.
Condition: excellent, like new.
Dimensions: 50 cm x 45 x 45 cm
Weight: 8.3 kg
