Antique vertical castle-style wooden filatoio dating to the 20th century.
Description from the seller
Antique, Fine-Turned Wooden Vertical Spinning Wheel – Elegant Decorative Item
A fascinating antique vertical wooden spinning wheel, “castle” model, characterized by refined and striking turned woodwork.
The piece’s true distinguishing feature is represented by the elegant turned wooden columns and structural elements, worked with profiled edges, sequences of rings and decorative shapes that give the spinning wheel a particularly refined appearance.
The turned work enhances the slender vertical form and testifies to the taste and artisanal skill with which these everyday objects were made.
It also preserves a pleasant patina of time, highlighting the grain and natural tones of the wood, increasing its charm as a decorative piece.
Today, as it is not complete with all the mechanical components necessary for spinning, it is offered mainly as a decorative and collectible item.
Particularly suitable for rustic, classical, country and shabby chic interiors, but also as a scenographic element for entrances, living rooms, agriturismi, studios, shop windows and charming venues.
Era attributed: late 19th – early 20th century
Provenance attributed: Central Europe, probably Germanic/ Alpine area
Material: wood
Work: turned wood with shaped decorative elements
Type: vertical spinning wheel “castle” model
Conditions: incomplete in the mechanical parts; offered as a decorative and collectible object
