Description from the seller
Vintage Jasba Keramische Kruikvaas (Jaren 70) – Maya/Azteeks Reliëf
Offered is a beautiful and distinctive vintage ceramic bottle vase, produced by the renowned German manufacturer Jasba in the 1970s.
This vase is an iconic example of West German design from that period, combined with the then very popular Brutalist and ethnic trends. The vase features a warm caramel-brown base glaze with a subtly speckled pattern.
What makes this object truly special is the deep, dark-brown relief decoration with pre-Columbian motifs (inspired by Maya or Aztec art). Around the body are stylized figures and geometric patterns, framed by a decorative triangular band on the shoulder.
The vase is equipped with two sturdy, characteristic handles. An absolute eye-catcher that fits perfectly in an eclectic, Brutalist, or modern Mid-Century Modern interior!
