Miguel de Miguel – International Visual Artist*

Miguel is a Spanish visual artist who began his career in 1980 and has developed a solid and emotionally intense trajectory, recognized worldwide. He has exhibited in cities such as New York, Hong Kong, Paris, Buenos Aires, and Mexico City, and his work is part of some of the most important collections internationally. He currently resides and works in Italy.

His painting combines figure and abstraction with a personal language, where vibrant color, symbolic forms, and deep textures speak of identity, memory, and inner silence. Faceless figures, symbolic natures, and scenes suspended in time make up a poetic and sensitive universe.

With more than four decades of creation, Miguel de Miguel offers a body of work that is not only to be looked at: it is experienced from the most intimate place. An art that transcends borders, styles, and words.

Two Silences
In this work, Miguel de Miguel turns the meeting of two figures into a silent dialogue charged with intensity. The faces, deliberately stripped of identity, transcend the individual to become symbolic presences, suspended in a space where the human and the spiritual meet.
The enveloping yellow acts as an energy field on which the bodies emerge, built through vibrant pictorial matter and a palette of strong contrasts. Blues, purples, oranges, greens, and reds intertwine, creating a chromatic tension that makes the surface a living territory.
More than representing a scene, the work offers an experience: two presences facing each other, two silences that seem to recognize each other without the need for words. Matter, color, and figure thus blend into a reflection on the encounter, identity, and that invisible which unites beings.
