Exceptional and exceptionally rare original 1930s French Art Deco theatrical magic poster titled "De Rocroy - L'homme pour qui la guillotine est un jouet" (The man for whom the guillotine is a toy).
​Designed by renowned French poster artist Gaston Girbal (1888–1978) and printed by Atelier Girbal, 27 Rue Diat, Paris (dated 1932 in the stone plate).
​The striking composition depicts the illusionist/escapologist holding a miniature red guillotine in his open hand while a skeletal Grim Reaper wielding a scythe stands behind him. Large-format 120 x 160 cm poster (French 1-panneau size) created for music hall, illusion, and macabre stage acts of the Interwar era.
