Striking pair of vintage artworks depicting highly stylised African scenes, distinguished by their expressive linear compositions and vivid colours set against deep black backgrounds.
One composition presents an animated village scene populated by elongated figures, birds and abstract architectural and natural elements. The second depicts fishermen at work in slender boats, accompanied by graceful white birds and a large woven fishing net. The delicate, energetic lines and contrasting accents of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and white give both works a lively sense of movement and rhythm.
Each artwork is signed by the artist in the lower corner and presented under glass in its original simple black frame with a cream-coloured textured mount.
