In a sea of crystal, a small tugboat embarks on a quiet journey. The precision of hyperrealism transforms a everyday object into an image suspended between reality and imagination, where light and transparency evoke a sense of calm and contemplation.

Sandra Chinelate, Brazilian, works on the physical and existential inquiry conducted with the tools of figurative painting. A literature graduate and, from a young age, a self-taught artist, she moved to Italy and, influenced by her multiple sociolinguistic perspective, conducts her painting research with the aim of promoting an encounter between different social subjects, where different ages, skin colors, passions and human uncertainties are contemplated from a strong desire of the artist to exalt their facets while safeguarding her characters from any pre-judgment. She devotes herself with equal fervor to the pursuit of detail, light, and perspective in her beloved hyperrealism technique, in which she has specialized since her earliest artistic experiments. Since 2005 she has exhibited in numerous solo and group shows. She works with oil and mixed media on canvas and panel.

For the catalog of one of her most important solo exhibitions, she was reviewed by the Roman art critic Lea Mattarella, and at the end of the review she wrote: "and if there is pain, if there is fatigue, Chinelate takes to herself the words of Rumi, the medieval Sufi poet, convinced that 'the wound is the place from which the light can enter into you'".

This is a rule Sandra Chinelate applies to the human soul she depicts just as to objects, all in equal balance of importance and order.
