Oval vintage brooch in 18 karat yellow gold (18k) with a hand-painted porcelain miniature, set in a fine gold mount, dating to the 19th century (1800–1850) and weighing 9.2 g, in good used condition with light wear.
Description from the seller
Refined oval antique brooch, characterized by a delicate hand-painted enamel miniature on porcelain, set in an elegant 18 kt gold mount.
The scene depicts two putti, one winged, intent on observing and handling together a small object. The figures are crafted with great care in the details: the faces, hairstyles, shading of the skin tones, and the wing in pink and orange tones are particularly delicate.
Of notable effect is the gilded background, finely decorated with an irregular motif of sinuous lines, which creates a pleasant contrast with the light tones of the figures and gives the composition brightness and depth.
The oval plate is enclosed by a thin 18 kt gold mount, tested. On the back the light surface of the porcelain is visible, held to the mount by small claws. There is also a handwritten serial/working number, an interesting element for identifying the piece.
The brooch retains the traditional rear closure with a long pin.
Good overall condition. The images, which are an integral part of the description.
