Arcangelo Ambrosi presents a unique hand-sculpted terracotta skull titled Skull - Hand Sculpted Terracotta, a 2025 sculpture in terracotta with dimensions 13 x 14.5 x 21 cm, weighing 1.7 kg, signed by the artist and in excellent condition, produced in Italy.
Description from the seller
Original unique sculpture, entirely handmade in terracotta by the Italian artist Arcangelo Ambrosi. There is only one original copy.
The work arises from the search for a balance between anatomical realism and the materiality of the modeling. The structure of the skull and the main anatomical details are studied carefully, but are not brought to a perfectly smooth and hyperrealistic rendering.
The surface indeed preserves the traces of the artist's gesture, the irregularities and the materiality typical of hand-shaped clay. The result thus sits halfway between an anatomically accurate representation and a sculpture in which the modeling process remains visible and becomes an integral part of the work.
The skull was subsequently fired and is presented as a finished sculpture, intended for display.
