Description from the seller
Leandro Olano
Furrowed brow, 2026
Oil on canvas
50.5 × 39 cm
Signed
Original unique work, executed entirely by hand
Comes with the artist's certificate of authenticity
Ships without frame (rolled) for maximum transport safety
The vertical composition presents a close-up of a young face with dark fringe and long hair falling to one side. The eyes appear narrowed or almost closed, with the brow slightly furrowed; the expression is one of concentration, tension or inward contemplation. A long pointed-shaped earring hangs from the right ear.
The volume of the face is built with saturated color planes (oranges, pinks, yellows, blues and violets) that fragment the anatomy without realistic modeling. The neck and upper torso show a high neck in dark and blue tones. The brushstroke is dense and gestural; the visible impasto prioritizes material and chromatic vibration over any descriptive detail. The background is resolved in color blotches that offer no clear spatial depth.
It remains within the same line as the rest of the series: contemporary figuration rooted in expressionist-Fauvist aesthetics. Color remains the true protagonist. The expression of a furrowed brow and narrowed eyes introduces a more contained and tense psychological charge than open frontal gazes or the ecstasy of the head tilted back.
