LASVEGUIX

French contemporary artist Lasveguix develops a singular universe at the crossroads of street art, collage and contemporary painting. His work questions the memory of walls, the passage of time and the poetry of ephemera, turning urban scars into emotionally charged pieces.

Introduced to graffiti by his cousin SUOZ, he forges his visual language in contact with the walls of Paris and London. His work fits into an artistic lineage where the great names of urban and contemporary art converse. One can find the heritage of Jacques Villeglé and Raymond Hains in the art of torn posters, the sculptural power of Vhils, the raw energy of Jean-Michel Basquiat, the silhouettes of Jérôme Mesnager, the poetry of Miss Tic, the urban memory of Ernest Pignon-Ernest, the stencil of Banksy, the pixelated universe of Invader and the iconic force of Shepard Fairey Obey. Without ever imitating them, Lasveguix asserts a personal, immediately recognizable handwriting.

Torn posters, spray paint, acrylic, Posca and reliefs compose true “wall skins,” where rips, superimpositions and traces of time become witnesses to a collective memory. Each work reveals a dialogue between material, history and emotion, inviting the viewer to rediscover the beauty of what the city seemed to have forgotten.

Lasveguix regularly exhibits in France and internationally. His works join private collections in many countries and illustrate a growing interest from collectors. His career leads him to participate in art fairs, prestigious exhibitions as well as charity galas bringing together collectors, patrons and institutions. His work has notably been presented at events organized at Roland-Garros, at the District 13 Art Fair at the Hôtel Drouot, in Monaco and in several emblematic venues of the contemporary art scene.

Through each of his creations, Lasveguix gives a second life to the city’s remnants. He does not depict the walls; he reveals their soul, making urban heritage, memory and creation dialogue in a deeply contemporary and timeless work.
