An Italian wooden circular flip-top occasional table from circa 1910–1920, with a multicoloured geometric inlaid top, 57 cm in diameter and 72 cm high, in good used condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
Elegant antique side table featuring a circular flip-top and exquisite geometric inlay.
Refined antique table characterized by an elegant circular top that flips open, a feature that enhances both its decorative charm and its constructive ingenuity. The true protagonist is undoubtedly the supporting top, with a diameter of 57 cm, decorated with an elaborate multi-colored wooden inlay in a geometric and radial pattern. Different types and tones of wood are skillfully juxtaposed to create a striking star-shaped design, rich in depth and color variations, capable of catching the eye from every angle.
The top is completely flip-top: when raised to a vertical position, it not only further highlights the inlaid decoration but also reveals on the back the original wooden framework and the related support mechanism. A typical solution for tables designed to combine elegance, functionality, and minimal footprint.
The structure rests on a turned central column with slender proportions, ending in a graceful tripod base with three curved and shaped feet. The overall line is harmonious and particularly decorative, ideal both in classical interiors and as a contrasting element within contemporary or eclectic spaces.
Dimensions:
diameter of the top about 57 cm
height about 72 cm
A piece with great presence, where the inlay craftsmanship, the distinctive flip-top construction, and the elegance of the base transform a small table into a true decorative and collectible furniture element.
The photographs are an integral part of the description and show the table both with the top in use and fully flipped, allowing appreciation of its construction and the original mechanism.
The item will be carefully packed to protect it during transport and shipped with a traceable service.
