A distinctive vintage Seiko mechanical pocket watch, reference 21-7210, commonly known in Japan by the nickname “Momotaro.”

This unusual model features a compact hand-winding watch housed inside a decorative folding outer case. When closed, the outer case forms a compact geometric shape, while opening the hinged covers reveals the watch inside.

The outer case of this example has a distinctive brown tortoiseshell-style pattern, giving each side a rich and decorative appearance. The combination of the patterned folding case and the angular metal watch case creates a design quite different from conventional Seiko wristwatches.

The silver-tone dial has a clean two-hand layout with applied hour markers and a prominent 12 o'clock numeral. The dial is marked “SEIKO,” “17 JEWELS,” and “JAPAN 21-0480S.”

The case back is marked “SEIKO,” “ACRP,” and reference “21-7210.”

The watch is powered by a 17-jewel manual-winding mechanical movement. Its compact proportions, unusual folding construction, and distinctly Japanese vintage design make the 21-7210 an interesting collectible from Seiko's mechanical watch history.

There are scratches, scuffs, marks, discoloration, wear, and other age-related signs on the outer case, metal case, crystal, case back, and other exterior surfaces.

The brown patterned outer case also shows visible wear, including small chips and areas of surface loss around some of the edges.
