Description from the seller
A0000005999
Classic and historically significant Swiss wristwatch Eterna-Matic, dated roughly to the 1950s or 1960s. A fundamental piece for any watch enthusiast, as it houses the legendary automatic movement with five-ball bearing that revolutionized the industry and gave rise to the brand's iconic logo.
With a diameter of 35 mm (a very generous size and sought-after for dress watches of its era), the watch offers a fantastic presence on the wrist. The dial is a clear example of natural aging: originally silver-toned, the passage of decades has transformed its surface, endowing it with a deep and striking speckled patina (the "Stardust" or star-dust effect), highly appreciated by vintage-watch purists who seek pieces with unaltered character. It features elegant applied baton markers, Dauphine hands, and a central seconds hand.
The case is stainless steel and closes with a snap-back back. The watch is delivered equipped with a dark deep green exotic-style leather strap, contrasting in a very original way with the steel of the case (noting that the strap buckle is gold-toned).
Technical details of the piece:
Movement: Swiss mechanical automatic (Eterna-Matic).
Measurements: 35 mm diameter (excluding crown). A classic perfect size.
Crystal: Domed Plexiglas.
Condition and Conservation: As a timepiece with more than half a century of history, it is important to remember that its charm lies precisely in the traces of time. We cannot demand the clinical perfection of a watch fresh from the factory, but rather admire the patina, character and soul that only decades of use and life confer. Essentially, it is like wearing a piece of history on the wrist. The watch runs. The dial presents a deep speckled patina/oxidation of the original varnish. The steel case shows scratches and normal signs of use.
Box/Accessories: It is delivered with only the watch (no original box or papers).
Please examine the images carefully to assess the aesthetic condition and the pronounced vintage character of the piece.

The lot will be carefully protected for shipment, extremely securely packed, with shipment insured for its full value and with an international express tracking number.
