Robust teak side table / wall table with underframe – Country-style & understated – 21st century
A stylish and characterful side table (wall table), handcrafted from sturdy solid teak wood (recycled wood). The table features an elegant, slim silhouette with lightly chamfered legs and a beautifully aged top where the natural wood grain, flames and signs of handcraft are nicely visible.
The piece is fitted with visible traditional mortise-and-tenon joints in the top and has a practical underframe with slats. This underframe provides space for books, decor, or baskets. Because of its narrow depth, this side table is exceptionally suitable for a narrow hallway, behind a sofa, or as a cosy country-inspired side table.
Made from old Indonesian salvaged wood, so no extra trees are felled.
Recycled teak is simply teak that has been given a second life. The recycled teak beams and planks formerly formed, for example, a house, a boat, a railway sleeper, or a rice trough. Because they were no longer needed for that purpose, they have been reprocessed after stringent selection and treatment into, for example, garden furniture.
Recycled teak still retains all the properties of new teak, only no trees have to be cut down. It also avoids wasting good-quality materials unnecessarily. It is therefore a sustainable and socially responsible alternative to new teak.
