First Edition. Hardback. A decent, and slightly repaired copy of this set of lithographed illustrations by Nicholson, with fourteen line poems or “quatorzains”, by W. E. Henley.
The binding has been restored with a cloth back strip, and reinforced to the front and rear hinge inside as well. A little rubbing to the edges of the boards, with some slight chipping.
Inside, the pages and plates are in very nice condition, with just a little of darkening to the text pages. In this first edition, the bus driver only appears on the front board, not as a plate inside.
12 colour plates, title and a further 10 leaves of text, including a final leaf with a facsimile of a hand written poem by Henley. Adverts to rear.

We are professional booksellers based in France, and have been members of ILAB for many years. We currently hold full membership of SLAM, as well as other organisations. We also sell at fairs and markets across Europe.
We are often found at brocantes and marches, searching for books and prints. We are also always interested in acquiring new stock from individuals, so if you have books or prints to sell, do get in touch.
We are proud to purchase biodegradable packaging and materials. Where possible, all of our book wrap and tape are compostable or re-cyclable. If you do receive any plastic bubble wrap from us - it is because we are re-using items we have received.
