AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Here we have an extremely wonderful oil on board Dutch School however appears signed in black Ch. Leickert (Charles Leickert 1816-1907). The artwork depicts a sunny day as the women do their washing and hanging it on the washing lines or out of the windows. This most beautiful piece of art is extremely well painted an in my opinion be attributed to Charles Leickert. This work is a characteristic example of Leickert's style, masterfully capturing the atmosphere; the artist studied in The Hague from 1841 to 1848 under Bartholomeus Johannes van Hove, Wijnand Nuyen, and Andreas Schelfhout. Active in Amsterdam from 1849 to 1883, he created winter, river, and coastal landscapes-featuring picturesque architectural motifs —that are masterfully rendered in their atmospheric depth and enlivened by charming figures or fishing boats. A brilliant antique piece which would grace any wall in your home.
