Description from the seller
sculpture realized by a contemporary artist in bronze using lost-wax casting; the title tells of a fusion between space and matter that gives rise to an evolution, life. the volumes are clear and dynamic; the human figure inside takes shape and modifies the space surrounding it, almost as if it were its own creator, almost taking pieces of matter to model itself and seeming to try to break out of the surrounding shell. it will be carefully packed and shipped by courier.
Biography
Andrea Oliva was born in Milan on 15/02/1973. He attended the classical high school but then decided to follow his instinct, left the gymnasium and enrolled at the Caravaggio Art High School where he graduated in 1992 and subsequently at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts; he plays in several musical groups, drums and guitar, while at the same time attending the ateliers of already established artists and beginning a long period of collaboration with some of them, from whom he learned the specific techniques of sculpture. He also worked for a period at the historic plaster workshop "Fumagalli e Dossi". He begins a constant sequence of solo exhibitions, the first in 1994, and participates in sculpture symposia and competitions, becoming also an artist-member of the Permanent Museum of Milan; he also dedicates himself to painting and to writing poems, some of which have been published in specialist journals.
On commission he realizes the plaques of the "Doctorate in Chemical Sciences and in Industrial Chemistry" for the University of Milan in 2004 and for the University of Insubria (Varese Como) in 2005.
He has produced several public monuments; one of the most important is a burial monument located in the Cimitero Maggiore di Milano.
