Fascinating and elegant Neoclassical-style amphora vase (inspired by the 19th-century Grand Tour aesthetic), rendered in bronze (or heavy cast metal) finely patinated in dark brown/anthracite tones.
The body of the vase is decorated 360 degrees with reliefs of exceptional plasticity and detail, depicting classical Dionysiac/mythological scenes:
Main side: A draped female figure (probably a nymph or Goddess) dancing or playing with a putto/child, flanked by a young musician playing the double flute (Aulos).
Second side: A male figure with a strap/baldric and shield (Warrior/Hunter) with a woman presenting him a child, and a boy restraining a hunting hound on a leash.
The structure features two elegant molded handles with a foliate/vegetal motif. Under the hollow base the original paper label from the period is still preserved, bearing the monogram "H.B." and the inventory/model number handwritten (03659 / 1 Valse or similar wording), testifying to the authenticity and the artisanal manufacturing of the second half of the 19th century (circa 1880-1900).
