This vase is a fine example of the renowned Saint-Louis crystal, particularly the Deauville pattern.
Founded in 1586, Saint-Louis is the oldest crystal manufacturer in France and synonymous with luxury and technical excellence. The "cut to transparency" technique, in which a layer of colored glass is carefully ground to reveal the clear crystal beneath, requires exceptional precision and craftsmanship. It dates from approximately the mid-20th century. It bears the brand's hallmark. It is in good condition. There is a small, unnoticeable chip on one edge of the vase.
