Columnar carving, Trespolo noce nazionale - 135 cm - Walnut

This beautiful lot is an antique plant stand (or plant column) made of solid national walnut wood with a wonderful, marked and unique grain. It features a slender and elegant silhouette typical of the Liberty style or the functional design of the late 19th to early 20th century. The piece presents two useful surfaces: an upper square-shaped surface to support the main pot; a lower shelf that joins the four feet, useful for optimizing space and accommodating a second decorative element. The item has deliberately been left with signs of wear; the dark areas at the center of the shelves have been left in their original state to give the vintage look that the piece deserves. They could have been sanded or turned, but the choice to preserve the originality of the piece is undoubtedly rewarding.
