"Gilded Fracture" – The Aesthetics of Breakthrough
In a world that often pursues perfection, Yannick Leniger shows us in his work "Gilded Fracture" the beauty of fragmentation. As part of the series "Soft Geometry," this 50x70 cm piece explores the tension between structure and decay.
The composition reads like a geological formation or the bursting fabric of a surface yielding under internal pressure. Through the artful Hot Glue Sculpting technique, the black grid rises plastically from the canvas, creating a tactile experience that invites the viewer to feel the textures with their eyes.
The warm gold tones, accentuated by high-quality leaf metal, stand in a powerful contrast to the deep black, producing an opulent, almost mystical atmosphere. As with other works in this series, the surface responds dynamically to its surroundings: depending on how light hits the gold particles, the radiance of the image changes and reveals ever-new details in the depths of the structure.

In 2003, Yannick Leniger began graffiti painting and gained experience in handling spray paints and the properties of various substrates during nocturnal actions.
In 2010, Yannick Leniger started creating his characteristic works from the flowering series, which enjoy great popularity. Through the combination with spray paints and acrylic, Leniger developed various techniques that yield unique effects in the works.
These mixed techniques are also found in the current works by Yannick Leniger. Influenced by artists such as Christiaan Lieverse and Pier Toffoletti, the current works depict people who are developed in connection with structure-giving means. In several steps, parts are masked, reworked, and highlighted.
From 2019 to 2022, Yannick Leniger was a member and treasurer of Kunstforderer e.V. in Unna and supported the association in a variety of creative projects with children and adolescents, schools, and open all-day schools. Since 2023, Yannick Leniger has been the first chairman of Kunstforderer e.V. in Unna.
