Vaso fiorito, an oil on canvas still life dating to 1944 in the Art Déco style, from Switzerland, sold with the frame, with the artwork measuring 33 x 41 cm and 42 x 49 cm including the frame.
Description from the seller
A. Marolf (active in the 20th century)
Still life with flowers in a vase
Oil on canvas
Signed lower right and dated (1944)
33 x 41 cm (work), 42 x 49 cm (with frame)
Refined oil on canvas still life depicting a rich and colorful bouquet of varied blossoms (zinnias or field daisies) arranged inside a dark glossy vase, whose reflection is clearly visible on the supporting surface. The composition stands out for the harmonious chromatic contrast between the warm tones of the petals – ranging from bright orange to gold yellow, from burgundy to dark red – and the delicacy of the neutral, softly shaded background. The painting application is tactile and well-structured, enriched by a signature at the lower right accompanied by a date (1944).
The work is enhanced by a fine two-tone frame with a gilded inner profile and an intricately worked silver fascia.
If the frame is visible in the photo, it is included in the lot as a pure gift from me and is not part of the sale, does not determine its value, and, given its delicacy, is not insured. Consequently, any defects already present on the frame are not reported and any damage to it during transport will not be considered for claims or returns. The wall-mounting system could also be removed. Glass often breaks during transport and can spoil the artwork. They can be removed on request at no additional cost. Please let me know if you prefer that the artwork be shipped without it; otherwise I cannot assume responsibility.
Notes on shipping and customs
The item is shipped from Geneva, Switzerland. For this reason, delivery times to European Union countries could be slightly longer than usual due to the standard clearance procedures.
In case of return of the package for an incorrect address, unclaimed package or unpaid duties, the buyer will have to pay a second shipping and cover the return costs.
I also remind you that, since Switzerland lies outside the EU customs area, local VAT, import taxes and customs duties are fully borne by the purchaser and will be charged by the authorities of your country upon delivery.
I recommend informing yourself in advance to avoid surprises. Alternatively, instead of shipping, if you have the option, personal pickup in Geneva is always the option I prefer and strongly recommend, as it will eliminate shipping costs and guarantee maximum safety for the artwork. If shipping is chosen, I will do my best to pack it to protect the painting during the journey.
