The work depicts a coastal landscape dominated by architectural and maritime motifs
A white house with a bright yellow roof, edged by red shutters, perched on a rocky promontory. To its right rises a tower with lighthouse or minaret-like features, painted in yellow and orange tones.
Rocks in shades of deep blue and orange form the base of the coast. Blue trees with dense foliage overlook the scene on the left, while green masses line the right side. A blazing sky, composed of blocks of pink, orange and red, is pierced by imposing blue-black clouds.
The work clearly registers in the Fauvist and Expressionist lineage.
The colors are purely emotional and not imitative: blue trees and rocks, pink and orange sky. The artist uses a strong contrast of complementary colors orange, blue and red, with green to create a dynamic and luminous visual tension.
The composition rests on a balance between the verticality of the tower and the house and the horizontality of the color bands in the foreground. The brushwork is broad, vivid and visible, giving body and rhythm to the whole.
