Goblet with attuned, chased and chased-silver plate – Naples, Kingdom of the Two Sicilies – 19th century

Very rare goblet with coordinated plate in Neapolitan-made silver dating to the 19th century, the period of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. For collection.
The ensemble stands out for its richly repoussé and chased decoration, typical of Neapolitan silverware of the 1800s.

The goblet, with an elegantly flared shape and resting on a shaped circular foot, is entirely decorated with volutes, leaves, flowers and rocaille elements in high relief. At the center of the composition is a framed reserve, embellished by a refined monogram engraved, an element that gives the piece a particularly personal and aristocratic character.

Notable is the scrolled, ornate handle, richly modeled in the rocaille taste.
The plate features coordinated decoration, with a wide relief vegetal and floral composition running along the surface. At the top there is a reserve with the same engraved monogram found on the goblet, while in the center a small floral bouquet is applied in relief.

Particularly interesting are the marks on the plate, photographed in detail. Among these is recognizable the characteristic Neapolitan mark with a Parthenope head, used in the 19th century for silver control. The typology of the marks appears linked to the punching system adopted in Naples during the Bourbon period, compatible with a dating to the middle of the 19th century.

The presence of the original marks, the richness of the workmanship and the monogram make this service an interesting example of 19th-century Neapolitan silverware.

The object is in good condition and retains a beautiful antique patina.
