Cortébert Supérieure pocket watch with manual-wind movement, in a metal case, circa 1900–1920, 50 mm case diameter, enamel white dial with black Roman numerals and red 24-hour scale, recently serviced and in working order, model Superieure.
Description from the seller
Fascinating and rare Cortébert Supérieure pocket watch from the early 20th century (circa 1900-1920), characterized by a solid mechanical architecture based on the historic Roskopf escapement. The lot stands out for being completely contemporary, original in every part, and in a state of aesthetic and mechanical preservation truly remarkable for its age. Main features and points of merit:
Mechanism and service: Manual-wind mechanical movement stamped with the Swiss Cortébert star logo. The watch has been recently serviced by a professional, is clean, and is fully functional in all components (the balance wheel and wheels rotate freely and keep time). It features the regulation rack with the classic indications "A" (Avance) and "R" (Retard).
Dial: Stunning white enamel dial, exceptionally preserved with no crazing or cracks. It presents large black Roman numerals for the hours (1-12) and an outer 24-hour scale with red Arabic numerals (13-24). At the center, the original "Cortébert Supérieure" logo stands out.
Case and Hallmarks: Case in antique metal (nickel/argentan) with double protective back (dust cover/ cuvette). Inside are all factory marks attesting to its absolute authenticity: the circular mark "CORTEBERT", the control letter "Z", the Swiss guarantee mark, and the four-digit serial number (1653) punched and consistently repeated.
Hands: Refined antique "Louis XV"-style hands, finely worked and decorated.
A piece of Swiss watchmaking history that is "popular" yet ready to wear or to be placed directly in a collection without any additional repair costs.
Condition: Excellent aesthetic condition as shown in the photos, vintage movement serviced and running.
Shipping: Tracked shipping with careful packaging.
