Description from the seller

This is a diptych (two works), each 60x60 cm, for a total height of 60 cm and length of 120 cm.

Water is the primordial element, the dominant theme, the source of life par excellence, the medium to entrust with the transport of dreams, desires and the most secret urges. Here the world of the human emerges from the textures of a strong, exuberant physicality, with the study of the figure immersed in water; the Collection is born, perceived with an undefined touch but one that pointed to its definition as time flows, among people, under the sun, in water’s reflection..

PROVIDED WITHOUT FRAME

The artist Lucia Mignosa, in art, known as Luminisa,

during the classical studies that the 60s demanded, thanks to the imaginative teachings of a art history professor, I knew and fell in love with that colorful world of beauty to which I have remained faithful and fascinated for life. But only later, finding myself casually with a creative magazine from the era, experienced as a window into the artistic world, following their guidance, I began creating objects to admire, ranging from art to fashion to items, in the perpetual search and attempt to express with art enthusiasm and joy as an anthem to life. The explosion of pleasure in creating, experimenting, researching with perseverance the maximum expression of beauty, pushed me, despite family and work commitments and the difficulties that the 70s promised a woman, to attend studies with famous Sicilian masters of the art of the time, to learn as much technique and experience as possible, without ever losing that single weekly appointment that made me drive 70 km to reach it. And it is by allowing myself to be inspired and carried by their excellence that I refined my views and perfected the technique, achieving my expressive splendor in Luminisa, a stage name, of a life dedicated to the playful world of cheerfulness, freshness and brightness that is realized in the extreme representation of games in water and bodies suspended in time in a playful prelude to cheerfulness. A sensibility, which I today express in painting, sculpture and engravings, that have a precise purpose: to translate into broad visions of play and moments of meditation and ecstasy a significant reality that has always dwelt within me.. Decisive, bright tones, apparatus of artistic gymnastics, rings in the water, promote the concept of my emotions, bearers of a playful and artistic complicity of my eternal serene mood..

Selected for two consecutive years by the Luxemburg Art Prize for artistic merit (2024-2025),
Past works are part of the Arianna Sartori Collection and are listed in the 2017 catalog Arte Moderna e Contemporanea by Anna Sartori and in the Museo delle Cappuccine in Bagnacavallo (Italy),
Group exhibition Signum in Troina with several works presented, International talent show.
Personal bibliography with a work, published by Arianna Sartori in the book La Bicicletta.
