ispahan - Chalice (2) - Ceramic

Pair of hand-painted Isfahan-style ceramic goblets. Each piece features a broad, strongly dentate rimmed bowl, a slightly tightened neck, a raised central knob, and a flared circular foot.
Decor
• Light turquoise to turquoise-blue background.
• Cartouches (medallions) in intense cobalt blue, edged in red, containing floral motifs and arabesques drawn in white.
• Upper frieze decorated with small red and blue stylized flowers, green dots, and geometric motifs on a white dotted background.
• Foot adorned with diamonds, white wolven friezes, and red and blue borders.
• Interior of the bowl also decorated with the same cartouches and floral motifs in blue, white and red.
Ceramic, hand-painted under or on glaze, with a transparent glaze. Presence of glaze crazing and wear, particularly on the rims and the foot.
Under the foot of each piece, red-painted signature: کوبیدان (Kubidān / Koobidan), name of the master potter.

Provenance
Isfahan (Esfahan), Iran. Characteristic style of Isfahan artisanal production from the Qajar era.
Generally good used condition. Glaze wear and small localized chips on the rims and the foot, consistent with age and use.
Matched pair, decoration nearly identical on both pieces. Master’s signature present on both exemplars.
